user unknown,

I respect your desire to not Facebook. However, you can still sign up completely anonymously and "Like" the Hunter's Trix page. I thought that may be of interest, in any case, for a non-Facebooker like yourself. Thanks for the kind feedback.

Hi hseamons,

Please refrain from using FACEBOOK as a verb. Thanks.

btw - I'm a fan of your matrix work - keep up the urge to merge.

I think the Fb as verb has left the station long ago. I think Hunter is not breaking new ground by using it that way.
We could say in an older form of English.
Fæder ūre þū þe eart on heofonum,
Sī þīn nama ġehālgod.
Tōbecume þīn rīċe, ġewurþe ðīn willa, on eorðan swā swā on heofonum.
Ūrne ġedæġhwāmlīcan hlāf syle ūs tō dæġ, and forgyf ūs ūre gyltas, swā swā wē forgyfað ūrum gyltendum.
And ne ġelǣd þū ūs on costnunge, ac ālȳs ūs of yfele.
Sōþlīċe.

True.

What did they call it when Chaucer ate too many burritos?

The Great Bowel Shift.

Sorry, a little English 101 humor.

Imagine what kind of burritos they had in Chaucer's day? Ewww

May we all raise our our hats to Willy and the Great Bowel Shift!

SDH, are you beginning to corrupt me? Next thing I will be making innuendo jokes.

Social Media is destroying what's left of the English laguage.

Texting? "OMG" appearing in the dictionary? "Send me a tweet"? I don't have any vomit left.

Fortunately, the English language has been declared dead many times, yet it seems to soldier on somehow ...

Hey Hunter,

I have yet to embrace Facebook but my wife just joined. I just had her "Like" Hunter's Trix.

Thanks for all your hard work on those. I truly love the hell out of them, for whatever that's worth!

My daughter is a Facebook "addict", but not into Grateful Dead. I'll get her to "like" Hunter's Trix for me.

Cool. The female "Like" ratio is currently at 7.4%, so that definitely needs a boost. Thanks for asking.

7.4% -- I guess that's about right.
when we go to shows we always stop to get a good look at the crowd and try and figure out "the ratio". I tend to say it's 85/15, which is shortly followed by my husband telling me I am way off, even 90/10 is too high. so 7.4/92.6 it is. sounds about right.
which is why I ALWAYS tell any single woman friend who asks: If you want to meet guys, come to a show with us!

Interestingly, however, ages 13 to 17 is a 50/50 split. Looks like many more females will be joining the ranks in about 20 years.

Why 20 years? Do Deadheads not emerge from incubation until at least age 33? Will something special happen on Phil's 91st birthday? :-)

On the guy-n-gal stats, here are some crowd pics from '82. Anyone interested could do a rough ratio. Or give it to their kids to do as a math assignment. No, wait, on the other hand ... maybe NOT something to show the kids ...!

that's wild -- but I've got the ancedotal evidence to back it up -- night 3 at the orpheum in boston, row 16, in the seats next to me are two girls who couldn't have been more than 19. I was so impressed. I love seeing the young'uns at shows!

I imagine more females are into the GD scene than the taper scene. I do know that more females flock to the Hunter's Trix taper scene, however. Statistics have verified this.
